23rd Annual Fall Festival of Bands

The North Davidson Marching Black Knights and the North Davidson Band Boosters cordially invite you to attend the 23rd Annual Fall Festival of Bands. We welcome you to perform in competition or in exhibition at our festival. Our stadium seats approximately 2000 spectators on the home side. Dressing rooms and lighted practice fields are provided.
LOCATION
North Davidson High School is centrally located in Welcome, NC, at Exit 97 on US Highway 52, approximately 15 minutes south of Winston-Salem and 10 minutes north of Lexington. The school is about 15 minutes from I-40 and 20 minutes from I-85.
REGISTRATION
A registration fee of $100.00 is due by Friday, October 5, 2024. Please make checks payable to the North Davidson Band Boosters. Registration is limited. The order of performance will be determined by the time stamp on your submitted registration form. Registrations sent via USPS will be placed depending on postmark date and time. The earliest postmark/time stamp in each class will be performing last. You can also click here to register online. We understand some of the registration information will not be available until after school has started. Please complete the information known and we will reach out to gather the remainder of the information once school is back in session.
ADMISSION
$10 for 6 and older
Ages 5 and under get in free
Printed programs: $5

JUDGING
Highly qualified judges will provide your groups with educational and constructive remarks on the day of the festival. We will use Olympic-style judging. Five (5) adjudicators will judge music, marching, and general effects for a total band score. The highest and lowest scores will be disregarded and the remaining scores will be averaged. We will also have judges for Drum Major, Visual Ensemble, and Drum Line.
TIME OF PERFORMANCE
Each band in Class A and AA will receive 15 minutes to perform. Class AAA and AAAA bands will receive 20 minutes.
CLASSIFICATION
Bands will be assigned to one of four classes, to be determined by the number of playing members which will be determined and confirmed after the registration deadline.
RATINGS
Superior 80-100
Excellent 60-79.9
Good 0-59.9
ADJUDICATION SCALE:
Judging will be based on the following
Points - Music 40%
Points - Marching & Maneuvering 30%
Points - General Effect 30%

CONCESSIONS
Please remember that this is also a fundraiser. Our concession stand will prepare for the number of students that are performing. No outside food will be allowed.
